Song 119

Today’s song reminds me a little of a song from January this year called “Dying Days”. I definitely hear the Big Country influence in it. But this one has a lot of charm on it’s own. There are a lot of Latin and Indian percussion forming the main rhythm parts. I like the blend of styles here. I think the lyrics stem from me watching a video about treasure hunting in the U.S. If the stories are true, there’s a lot buried treasure out there! Not that I’m going digging any time soon…

lyrics

Oh they already know, no point in letting it show
Nowhere left to go, what you thought was hidden was found

They learned of your treasure map, you have no more secrets
You can't keep it to yourself, they figured out your weakness

Now they go digging up your gold, strip you of your life oh so cold
Drain away your youth, you're so old, what you hold dear is gone

They learned of the path you took, now they block your way
You can't move the least of them, no matter what you say

Shattered walls are coming down, you're in the sights
While the clock is counting down your demise

Now you're losing grip on your hold, you believe the lies you were told
They'll never bring you to the fold, you're now on your own

Shattered walls are coming down, you're in the sights
While the clock is counting down your demise
