Song number 18

It was deceptively cold out today. The sun was shining, but that was a bitter, bitter wind. I’m happy I’m an indoor cat.

This song turned out pretty cool. It just started with some noodling around on my acoustic guitar. I started to hear a funeral dirge in my head as I played. Quickly, and without thinking better of it, I jotted down the chords. A few scant hours later, I had what you hear here. I got a bit creative with the effects on the piano, guitars and vocals. The result is what I call a “swirly” wall of sound. Check it out!

lyrics

Call on these transmissions held, hidden in an endless sky
At rest, at last, head in to the unknown

Endless knowing, boundless skies
Endless dreaming, my whole life
I commit it to the stars

Caught up in a sacrifice, pulling reigns on desire
At rest, at least I can see the world's hidden notes

Endless knowing, boundless skies
Endless dreaming, my whole life
I commit it to the stars

There are wild things lurking in my soul

Trust in those transmissions sent, soaring far away from here
At rest, at last, revealing the unknown
