Shock And Awe

about

Song number 20

I’m 37… I’m not old. Happy birthday to me. I was going for a sort of Nine Inch Nails kind of feel for today’s song. There are glimmers of the original idea. I think it turned into something else. I do like the layers of synths and the interplay between the guitars.

lyrics

I'd pay good money to see the look on your face
I bet you think it's funny, running in place
After all the fakers pass me by
The world's a mess, I'm not impressed by your rampant greed

I'd pay good money to see you trip the chance
I bet you think it's funny, with blood on your hands
After all the blind pass you by
Your time is up, you're out of luck, as you bleed

There's no pride in your fall, your sins nailed to the wall
You won't have time to stall, it's your own private shock and awe

There's no pride in your fall, your sins nailed to the wall
You won't have time to stall, it's your own private shock and awe
