Song number 148

Intolerance, bigotry, racism and prejudice can be present in anyone. Regardless of culture, creed, race, gender, religion or sexuality. A spirit of understanding is apparently unattainable in today's climate. There are millions of reasons you can claim victimhood, or be an oppressor. What can be a legitimate complaint can just as easily be turned into someone else being hurt. Sticks and stones, or so I'm told. But what can words actually do anymore? Everyone gets lost in their own bubble, and refuses to see past it. Somehow, censorship and violence has replaced discussion and sharing different views. I've always been a "live and let live" kind of person, but that seems to be impossible these days.

lyrics

Sorrow baby, ain't it funny how all that goes
Tomorrow maybe, it's sunny somewhere when the summer springs
Life can't be what it seems

Lit up crazy, silent storms on the horizon
Split up worries, stillborn before I have a chance
Words still mean what they mean

Or so I'm told, but that's not how it goes
Should I feel guilty, I was born this way too

Maybe I'll say what I've been dying to say
Throw caution to the wind
Shout me down all you want
You have no words to defend
Words will never hurt you

Or so I'm told, but that's not how it goes
Should I feel guilty, I was born this way too

Kick and scream all you want, it doesn't make you right
The sins of my father are not mine

Through my open window, I see the world spin round
