One Of Us

Song number 62

This song is kind of strange… kind of creepy. I don’t know why the lyrics came to me the way they did, and I find it a bit unnerving. Eh, but that makes it interesting I guess. It sort of reminds me of a cross between Santana, Jefferson Airplane and early Pink Floyd… with a lunatic singing. Latin Psychedelia?

lyrics

The lights will only blind you, try to look away
The voices will remind you, you should have stayed away

Cry your tears in the blood, and become one of us

There's no going back now, there's nowhere left to go
There's nothing left to strive for, nothing left to know

Now you see where you went wrong, I hope you see it won't be long
But I will keep you warm, I will keep you safe, I will tell you how
Cry your tears in the blood and become one of us

I hope you're feeling stronger, I hope you see the truth
I'll show you what life is now, I'll show you all the proof

Now you see where you went wrong, I hope you see it won't be long
But I will keep you warm, I will keep you safe, I will tell you how
Cry your tears in the blood and become one of us

Now you see how I broke you, the promise here can't hold true

Now you're one of us, now you're one with us
