In The Future

about

Song number 5 for the year.

I was in a weird mood when I woke up this morning. The phrase “There won’t be many shopping carts in the future” was stuck in my head. No idea why. But, why not make a song about it? Seems like a reasonable thing to do. Today’s song is a bit nutty, but I like it.

lyrics

There won't be many shopping carts in the future
Fruits and crisps and dates and figs teleported to your door

We won't want to drive our cars in the future
Our Cadillacs and Porsches will have to drive themselves

Parents just won't understand
Our stupid clothes and all those passing fads

We won't use telephones in the future
Anything we want to say will now transmit directly from our brains

We won't want to watch TV in the future
We'll just play with sticks and mud or make castles out of sand

Music won't be as good as it was in the 90's
Kids those days weren't as frightening as they will be in the future

There won't be many people walking around in the future
That's because we're all robots now in the future

In the future
