Song number 71

Fighting, fighting, always fighting. Sometimes it’d be nice to not feel like I have to. I can scream, I can sing, I can play until my fingers bleed and yet this world still turns. Take all you want, I’m staring through the mirror…

Today’s song is a straight-ahead rock song. No synths this time. I like how it turned out. Double tracking my voice sounded cool with a lower register than I usually sing in. It’s a jam, that’s for sure…

lyrics

Take all you want, I'm staring through the mirror
Showing nothing new, Nothing becomes clearer
Fighting an enemy that I just can't believe exists
Faking envy all this time, but I just don't really care

What I always knew was so hard to prove
I only know what my eyes showed me

Trust what you want, I offer no surprises
Run all you want, I'm not going anywhere
Fighting a new disease washing over me out loud

What I always knew was so hard to prove
I only know what my eyes showed me

And yet this world still turns
As these fingers burn
It's as if it all means nothing

Fighting an enemy, fighting a new disease
Fighting an enemy, fighting a new disease
Out loud
