Drain The Swamp

Song 350

I don't typically get very political in my songs, but it is something I pay a lot of attention to. This particular election has me riled up a bit more than usual. Usually, to me, it doesn't really matter who wins. But, this time around, I'm seeing a lot of really disturbing signs. I've heard lots of people praise the president-elect for being "anti-globalist" and for the people. Nothing is farther from the truth and all of the signs were plastered in front of everyone as far back as the primaries. And now, the proof is undeniable. Plain as day. Still, STILL people tout the same old things. Despite all evidence against them. They just can't admit they chose poorly and they can't admit they've been fooled. It's like the people who keep giving money to a preacher that has predicted the end of the world 5 times and has never been right. I hope you're happy.

lyrics

You haven't got ahead in life
Now you need someone to blame it on
You bought a pack of lies
And you can't admit you're wrong

The world was pressing down
Enough to make you break
But now the chips are down
You can't admit you made a mistake

We tried to warn you but it did no good
It's turning out the way we said it would
Cuz when you drain the swamp all that's left is scum
They fill it up again with their endless sludge

You haven't got a clue what's right
You'be been blinded by the lies
Of me pulling your strings
Pulled that wool over your eyes

You take a look around
And maybe you will see
That you've been scammed
Now you're gonna get fleeced

We tried to warn you but it did no good
It's turning out the way we said it would
Cuz when you drain the swamp all that's left is scum
They fill it up again with their endless sludge
I hope you're happy

We tried to warn you but it did no good
It's turning out the way we said it would
Cuz when you drain the swamp all that's left is scum
They fill it up again with their endless sludge
I hope you're happy
