Song number 19

Working makes me feel good most of the time. Even more so when I like the end result. While I had a rough start to the morning, once I got to work, my mood improved quickly.

Today’s song started with a somewhat somber feeling. I ended up speeding up the tempo and the whole mood changed. What could have easily dipped into a sad acoustic song, (not that there’s anything wrong with sad acoustic songs) turned into something a bit more uplifting. I read an article today about Alan Rickman regarding his role in the Harry Potter movies. The word “always” had a special meaning to the character. He was in love with Harry’s mother, even when she didn’t end up with him, even so long after her murder. It’s an almost universal emotion. Many, many people have experienced that. So, that loosely inspired the lyrics to this one. Check it out:

lyrics

Hold close and I'll be here to warm you
No choice, I can only love you from here out
Don't cry, don't try wondering what might have been

I will always know that you love me so
I will always live the love that you show
Always know

Run free, but always lay your heart here
You know me and all I'll never lose, laughing at the wind
Don't cry, don't try wishing on stars that never shine

I will always know that you love me so
I will always live the love that you show
Always know

Hold close and I'll be here to warm you
Hold close and I'll be here to warm you
Always
