Song 39

There is a lot of meat on this bone. This song is densely packed with synths and guitars. I really like the “swirlyness” of this song. One of the synths is a recreation of the sound circuits of the old Nintendo Entertainment System. There’s something about the sound of it that reminds me of when I was a kid. So full of hope and potential. Well, here’s the song:

lyrics

Why should I shield my eyes, counting down the days
Why should I hold the pieces I tear away
Are all these words my only sacrifice

How do these pieces fit when i can't see a path
How do my stars align, should I even ask
Are all my fears my only comfort now

We raise our faces to the trial, we hold our pieces too tight

What do we have to give that we haven't tried
What do we refuse to see, what have we denied
Is it only ashes left to keep us warm

Why should I wish away scars never earned
Why would I make it out with lessons never learned
Am I alive in wonder to the world

We raise our faces to the trial, we hold our pieces too tight

Am I alive in wonder to the world

We raise our faces to the trial, we hold our pieces too tight
