Today I learned about the "Mandela Effect". It's based on the fact that lots and lots of people thought Nelson Mandela died in prison, in the 80's. They were shocked to hear of his much-publicized death and following funeral, in 2013. So, were all of these people simply mistaken? Did an alternate universe collide with the one we knew and loved? Some people seem adamant that this is the case. Even more bizarre are the theories that some entity, or group is actively causing this to happen. So, me, being very interested in all things strange, paranormal, and yes, conspiracy theories, I had to check this out. Well, let me tell you one thing... Just because you're sure to the very fiber of your being, doesn't make you right. You being wrong doesn't mean you've slipped into an alternate universe. Just because you think the line is "Luke, I am your father", as opposed to the actual line: "NO, I am your father", doesn't mean lizard people are controlling the world. It means you're either not very observant when watching movies, you don't care about Star Wars, or you're a dumbass. Or any combination of those things. It's not an effect that needs a name, other than "wrong".
So, today's song is lyrically based upon the rabbit-hole of idiocy that I occupied myself with while either taking a break or bouncing tracks. The song itself is pretty cool. I've been diving into my sound libraries more and more and I am pleasantly surprised. The singing in the background on this song is actually a song library of Linda Strawberry's vocals. I thought it sounded too good not to use.
lyrics
Timelines shifting, I'm a brand new me
My mind keeps twisting, it's not how it used to be
There's more than one of everything, pierce a veil or two
It's not a trick, it's a warning, a window to look through
What could have been the meaning changes every day
Is it shared false memory, or are games being played
Am I awake yet?
