Song 190

Today's song was actually spawned from an idea I had to start a solo for a different song I was working on this morning. I stumbled upon the main riff for this song while noodling around. I decided to turn it into a new song on it's own. So, I stopped what I was recording and started a new project. I really like the way this one turned out. There is a lot of harmonic complexity with the interplay of all the stringed instruments. I also decided to use a harp virtual instrument as part of the main backing tracks. I reversed the track and added an echo to it, then reversed the track again so it was playing forward, only now, the echo comes before the "pluck" of the string. It's a really cool effect that I use from time to time, to add a little thickness to the song. All in all, a productive day.

lyrics

I feel the stars falling down around me
I could be wrong, but so could you
Every feeling has it's own kind of torture
There's no way to ever know the truth

I can see through the static

You can't believe your eyes while your ears lie
I could be right, but so could you
Are we just insects in an airless jar
We can never find a way to see it through

I can see through the static
I know they're calling out to me

Can I ever die in a universe
Hollow out my soul with every pulse of light
It's all too much

I can see through the static
I know they're calling out to me
