Song 101

I filled yet another notebook with songs. Tomorrow I start a new one. The stack continues to grow! Today’s song started with just those piano notes, I just randomly hit the notes to test the sound I pulled up. The riff stuck with me instantly and I just took off from there. Add some drums, synths and guitars and voila! Song one-hundred-and-one. Onward I go…

lyrics

I thought I was the actor in my very own movie
But all the cameras were safely out of sight
I have no way to thank you for giving me the chance
I didn't see the picture, I thought I was someone else

All my life I pretended to be
Someone that meant something to me
I pour more salt on old wounds

Another stolen glance frames me in the light
I thought I mentioned once or twice the reasons why
I have no book to guide me, I have no tale to tell
I didn't find a mirror, I thought I was someone else

All my life I pretended to be
Someone that meant something to me
I pour more salt on old wounds

I guess I can't complain about the unknown
A sea of bitterness drowns all I've shown

I thought I was someone else
I thought I was someone else
