Song number 139

People really need to chill out. People are far too quick to resort to violence. There are better ways than rioting, murder, punching and kicking to be heard. It's becoming so frequent that I've almost become numb to it. I'm sick of feeling like setting records straight. I'm sick of trying to be a voice of reason. Bigots on one side, uninformed loudmouths on the other. Idiots looking for solutions to problems that only exist in their own imaginations. I hear people on every side of the political spectrum complain about "low information voters". Guess what? Every side is mostly filled with "low information voters". To the point where any position can be dumbed down and straw-filled and it will elicit outrage from someone. Of course, few people ever look into things themselves to find out what the actual story is. The majority of people are low information. They'd rather be outraged than informed. They'd rather think they're right than ever explore enough to see if they're in the wrong. They're more interested in their side "winning" than what is best for them. I'm sick of it all. Why can't I avoid it?

lyrics

Crashing through the door
A world becomes somehow real
After all the worry
There are no feelings left to steal from me

Run aground on my intentions
Cast away in my doubts, grown cold

Calling all the thought police
Take away this tired rebel
I have no skin in your game
But I'm disgusted just the same

Run aground on my intentions
Cast away in my doubts, grown cold

Are you not satisfied
My eyes obscure a truth
