Song 110

Sometimes all I need to begin writing lyrics is to see an interesting word. Or a word that has a nice rhythmic quality to it. Today’s song starts with the word “Windowless”. My brain could go a hundred different directions starting with that word. I was instantly off and running and strangely, the words fit the feel of the song. One of the synths sounds a bit like crickets to me. It is very evocative of the feeling of nighttime.

lyrics

Windowless rooms, warm like a womb
Unfounded rumors penetrate the walls

Untimely intervention in the intersection of quiet dreams

Walls made of scars and a still-beating heart
Untrusted instincts tear the love apart

Unintrusive voices in the corners of my mind, in shadows

Quietly dreaming, the world so still

Quietly dreaming, the world so still
