Into The Light

Song 226

The theme of the day is rhythmic complexity. I have a thing for layering drum beats, over and over and over, to the point of excess. I like the way it sounds for some things, like today's song. I'm not quite sure how to classify this one, but it's pretty trippy. Well, it's good for a Saturday. So, there's that.

lyrics

It's not just black or white, there's no need to fight
There are bigger fish to fry
Step into the light, you won't, but you might
Find out the reasons that we die

You crack a smile and let the secret slip
Astounded by the cracks in your fragile walls

It's not the world you see that wants to do you in
The hidden foes try to take your soul
Step into the light, you hope that you might
Find a kiss that makes you whole

You frown a bit and notice the game's been won
Wondering where all the time has gone
