Dire

about

Song number 167

On a sunny, but muggy day, I have been holed up in my cave carefully crafting tunes, soulful or otherwise. Idle hands are the devil's playthings, or so they say. Keeping busy is a great wall against anxiety and depression... but it only lasts as long as you can last. I don't like feeling like the second I stop working I'm going to be hanging by a thread.

lyrics

A stolen face, an empty room
An endless race, a favored season

Lights shining in my eyes all night
Casting shadows in my dreams

Oh you know my ways
Oh you know my ways are dire

An empty room, a sinking feeling
An idle broom, a heart left reeling

Time slowly racing by my eyes
Casting shadows on my heart

Oh you know my ways
Oh you know my ways are dire

Oh you know my ways
Oh you know my ways are dire
