Digging In The Sand

Song 224

Today I find myself writing yet another ballady kind of song. It originally started at 70bpm but the running time of the track ended up over six minutes long. So, I bumped it up to 110bpm and I liked the more upbeat feel. It still has a somewhat somber tone though. I think I'm going to try something more energetic tomorrow. I like this song, but I have a "been there, done that" kind of feeling about it. Huh, well, tomorrow is another day, as they say, often...

lyrics

Disarm my fate, I'm digging in the sand
Contemplate taking my hand
I'll show you all the wounds I've been through
I'll show you where I went to pieces

If I wait too long to smile
I find life's been gone for a while
I have to catch up

I softly sigh and give the plan away
I can't die with so much left to say
I'll show you all the hills I've climbed
I'll show you how I won my war

If I wait too long to smile
I find life's been gone for a while
I have to catch up

I keep my spirits up
I put one foot in front of the other
I keep my head down
And somehow I survive

If I wait too long to smile
I find life's been gone for a while
