Song 220

I'm up to 220, songs and volts. I feel electric on today's song. I think I got a little out of my mind making this one. The chord progression is pretty simple, but the sonic qualities surrounding it have a lot of complexity. There are a lot of open, ringing strings going on. The piano is a mix between a grand piano and a toy piano. I went a bit overboard on the effects, but I like how it sounds. The drums are pumpy and overcooked. It has a real "digitally damaged" overall sound. So, yeah... that's that.

lyrics

Miracle men in awe of zen push snake-oil designs
Hospital guards and holy ghosts take postcards for a ride
And I'm stuck right here

Trace back the numbers and put a face to the name
I can't complain
There's stickup jobs and squares to con and everyone's afraid
But I'm not to blame

Terrible twos and crimes to prove, sticky-fingered saints
A real mirage in a foggy garage, the jester's feeling faint
And I'm stuck right here

Put on the blinders, there's a hundred more to go
I can't complain
The gods you trust don't give a fuck, they're busy buying nails
But I'm not to blame

I think I lost this time
All these pictures fly
Am I glowing too bright

Put on the blinders, there's a hundred more to go
I can't complain
The gods you trust don't give a fuck, they're busy buying nails
But I'm not to blame
