about

Song 238

A cocoon forms. I claw my way out, on my way to an early doom. Beautiful but fleeting life. All flash and no bang. All flutter and no will. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? Winter will be here sooner than I think. The cold freezes the youth, but never in time. What will it become? Will it ever be discovered? Is it all lost on the wind? Nothing but an insect with pretty wings. Nothing but a bug, that may trigger hurricanes... Eventually.

lyrics

I breathe in you under water
I know the pain it brings

I'm digging in my favorite grave
I have so much fun sleeping here

I turn my wretched insides out
To show my soul to you
I'd sweep up those pieces for you
Don't I care?

I'm sick of dark winds stealing all my fun
Richer than rich, scratching that old torn skin

Pin my wings up on the wall
So I don't fly away

Pin my wings up on the wall
So I don't fly away
