Brooding Sleep

Song 151

Today's song was written using an open-tuning I just found. It's called "Spirit" tuning. It really sounds nice and lush. I added a lot of guitar layers with crazy feedback and swirling reverbs and delays. It helped to make the song very tense and somewhat machine-like. I like the contrast of a nice flowing acoustic guitar with all the digital madness around it. This one is a keeper!

lyrics

Even on my dying day
I forgive the wounds I made
Tired soul, on a roll
I forget the passage read

What's the use in solitude
Memories never shared
Slick black blood, brooding sleep
On wind-swept pavement

Tie your wings to sadness

All the tides wash away
What we want to say
Tripping silence, alarm in my heart
It's all leading somewhere

Tie your wings to sadness
