Song 205

I'm old and grey and achy. Ashes to ashes and rust to rust. Creaky bones predicting the weather. Whether or not I want to know. Time is speeding up because time is running out. It seems like a lifetime ago that I was wearing a towel as a cape, pretending to be a super man... instead of a stupid kid. Age is just a number, but that number keeps on growing... if you're lucky.

lyrics

I watch the numbers tick down to zero
I can feel the storm in my bones
I never got to be a superhero
I never got to float in space
Does it ever mean a thing

I believe the future isn't written
But I can see the writing on the wall
Oh, there's no pride before this fall

I've seen the ages come and go
I feel life fade every day
I curse the times that went far too slowly
Only to see how short is really is
Does it even matter now

I believe the future isn't written
But I can see the writing on the wall
Oh, there's no pride before this fall

All the sticks and stones are broken
I'l forgive the dust when it settles
Down

I believe the future isn't written
But I can see the writing on the wall
Oh, there's no pride before this fall
